Roofs for Teachers

Our annual Roofs for Teachers roof giveaway has officially wrapped up for the year, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to give back to the educators who make such a difference in our community. In partnership with Polk County Public Schools, we had the privilege of surprising eight outstanding members of the Polk County school community with a completely free roof replacement as part of our teacher appreciation initiative.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients:

Syreeda Battle, a teacher at McLaughlin Academy;
Lisa Branam, a safety guardian at Bartow Elementary Academy;
Valerie Corwith, a paraeducator at Auburndale High;
Randi Honer, an interventionist at Lake Alfred Elementary;
Kimberly McKinney, a teacher at Churchwell Elementary;
Lydia Oliver, a media paraeducator at Dixieland Elementary;
Michelle Paoletta, a PCPS bus driver;
Joshua Steele, a visual arts teacher at Davenport High.

Through this special program, eight new roofs will be awarded to instructional and non-instructional PCPS employees across the district — including one staff member from each School Board region, plus one district department employee.
